Wildlife Guiding Course Series 2009: Scottish Mammals and Wildflowers

Wild Scotland have announced their new series of courses - Wildlife: A Tourist Guide's View - for individuals interesting in wildlife guiding.

The 2 day/1 night courses are aimed at people working in the tourism industry who wish to refresh or add to their existing knowledge of Scotland's natural history. Scotland has highly varied flora and fauna, from its high tops to the seabed, and this variety is part of  the wide appeal of Scotland as a tourist destination.

The first course in the series will focus on Scotland's terrestrial mammals, such as pine martens, wildcat, badgers, otters and red deer and will include general ecology and behaviour as well as  tools for mammal identification, watching best practice and techniques for guiding groups. The course is being held at Kindrogan Field Centre in Perthshire on 15th - 16th April 2009.

The second course focusses on Scotland's wildflowers and is also being held at Kindrogan Field Centre. The dates for this course are 27th -28th May 2009.

The courses cost £250 (incl accom) or £220 (without accom) per person per course plus VAT.
There is a 10% discount for Wild Scotland members.
