May Bank Holiday Weekend Wildlife Activities at Cream o'Galloway
29-Apr-2009
Fancy finding out more about the wild side of Cream o’ Galloway?
Then join us for some very special wildlife events taking place over the May bank
holiday
Sunday May 3rd, Hedgerow Safari
On Sunday 3rd May we are hosting a Hedgerow Safari
and Small Mammal Hunt, organised by the Organic Milk Suppliers Cooperative. There’s an amazing variety of plants,
mini-beasts, birds and mammals in our hedgerows and an experienced guide will
take you on a journey of discovery into this fascinating habitat.
Standard Cream o Galloway entry fees apply but please book in advance for
this event.
Monday May 4th, 4.30 am Dawn Chorus
On Monday 4th May we invite you to be an early
bird by joining us on our annual Dawn Chorus Walk. We will be setting out at 4:30am, yes, that’s
just before it gets light, to walk the nature trails and listen to the fabulous
chorus of the birds as they get going for the day.
We will be out for a couple of hours so
you’ll need warm clothes, and perhaps binoculars if you have them, but really
it’s all about listening to the birds singing to each other, reminding
neighbours of their territories and trying to attract a mate. We’ll return to the visitor centre for a
light breakfast.
The Dawn Chorus Walk
costs £6. Please book in advance on
01557 815 222 or email helen@creamogalloway.co.uk.
