Wild Scotland, together with the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society and the Dolphin Space Programme are working with Scottish Natural Heritage to run an exciting workshop on 17th March 2010.
The event
'Marine Wildlife: Working Together Towards a Better Understanding' is part of SNH's Sharing Good Practice programme of activities and aims to bring together boat operators, marine researchers and
others involved with the management and use of the marine environment
to discuss how research and data collection can help both tourism and
the management of the marine environment.
Scotland’s marine wildlife provides the basis for a popular and growing marine tourism industry. Scotland also has a strong conservation research sector which is discovering more about our fascinating marine life.
The event will be opened by Scottish Environment Minister, Roseanna Cunningham MSP, and other speakers include Professor Paul Thompson of the Lighthouse Field Station, Aberdeen University and leading expert on bottlenose dolphins and founder of Scotland's first whale-watching company Sea Life Surveys, Richard Fairbairns
