Watching Mountain Wildlife this Winter? Be Prepared with Winter Skills Courses

If you’re wanting to get out and about this winter to watch wildlife, make sure that you’re prepared for the weather. Why not sign up for Boots n Paddles’ Winter Hill Walking Skills Courses.

This Highland based outdoor activity provider is offering a series of winter hill walking day courses in the Cairngorms.

  • Introductory course: movement skills on snow and ice covered terrain, correct use of ice axe for walking, cutting steps, self arrest, i.e. how to stop on a snow covered slope.
  • Intermediate course: navigation and using a compass, weather considerations, safe route choice, avalanche awareness and avoidance, and use of emergency shelters.

All courses are led by experienced, qualified winter mountain leaders or MICs giving lots of practical tips.

Courses cost £60 per person (incl VAT).

Special Offer: 5% discount if booking both days.
