Seals, Adventure & Social Media: the perfect conference combination!
The 2010 Wild Scotland Conference was another great success. Over 60 delegates joined us at The Grant Arms Hotel in Grantown on Spey where the themes were adventure, seals and social media.
Here are some comments from delegates:
“Congratulations on an excellent conference. Enlightening, inspirational and good for me for networking”.
“It was a great day so thanks so much for organising it. I got a huge amount out of it and met some really interesting people”.We were treated to an inspirational speech from Chris Doyle, Vice-President of the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) where we were encouraged to embrace the changes in how people holiday. This was supported by Paul Easto from Wilderness Scotland who presented a vision of what adventure travel in Scotland could look like. Riddell Graham from VisitScotland then spoke about recent changes to VisitScotland and highlighted how the tourist board is now listening to the industry.
After lunch, we were treated to a passionate and thoroughly entertaining presentation about Scotland’s seals by Callan Duck of the Sea Mammals Research Unit. And we ended the day with a short workshop on Twitter and Facebook led by Rene Looper of 4TM-Guide.com.
