Seabird Centre welcomes new Head of Operations
The award-winning Scottish Seabird Centre, North Berwick, has announced the appointment of Nigel Ward in the new role of Head of Operations.
Nigel has 35-years senior management experience in successful customer-service orientated businesses including visitor attractions, retail and catering. His experience from within the visitor attraction sector is vast, including senior appointments within the aquarium and adventure activity industry and over 7-years developing attractions on an international basis.
A keen wildlife and landscape photographer, Nigel loves the great outdoors and has a passion for protecting the countryside, and in particular coastal areas, and has 35-years senior management experience within the visitor attraction sector.
Tom Brock OBE, Chief Executive of the Scottish Seabird Centre, adds: “There are many changes taking place at the Centre as we get ready for the new season and build on the Centre’s success. Nigel’s experience is ideal for helping to ensure that the Centre’s national and international importance continues to grow as both a quality visitor attraction and as a self-financing and independent conservation and education charity.
“With the arrival of our new custom-built trip boat imminent, new exhibitions and events, and of course the Year of Natural Scotland, the Seabird team is looking forward to a very exciting and positive 2013, with Nigel’s new role playing a key part in this.”
