Funding Opportunities

Below are a list of funding opportunities available, please take a look and see if there is any of interest to your company.

Funding for social entrepreneurs

Firstport, which supports new and emerging social entrepreneurs across Scotland, has announced that its Level 2 Social Entrepreneurship Fund is open for applications. Level 2 grants of up to £25,000 are available to individuals and small groups of individuals with a tested and proven social enterprise idea that have a successful trading track record of about 12 months. Although applicants can be based anywhere in the UK most of the beneficiaries need to be located in Scotland. The grants can be used to pay for salaries and contribute towards living expenses. The next deadline for Level 2 awards is the 28th August 2014.

Food and Drink growth fund

The fund is open for applications, as part of the launch of the Year of Food and Drink, to constituted marketing groups of three or more tourism businesses.Demand for this fund is expected to be high and as with the main Growth Fund, the application process will be competitive with priority given to applicants who best demonstrate alignment to the aims and objectives of the Year of Food and Drink 2015.The Year of Food and Drink Growth Fund will support groups with up to 50% of approved total marketing costs, from a minimum award of £2,500 to a maximum of £20,000. The deadline for this will be 27th August 2014.

ScotRail Foundation

The ScotRail Foundation is a national programme available to groups and organisations across Scotland. The fund is provided by ScotRail directly as part of their commitment to their social and corporate responsibilities and is managed by Foundation Scotland on ScotRail’s behalf.Groups and organisations are encouraged to apply (individuals are excluded). Recommendations for grants and how the money will be distributed will be made by an advisory panel drawn from ScotRail staff. Funding deadline is 1st September 2014.
