Cairngorms Nature Young Presenter Winner

Iolo an dJames

In February 2016 Speyside Wildlife hosted the winner of the RSPB and Cairngorms Nature Young Presenter competition; 14-year-old James Miller and his family at the Steading, Speyside.

James was voted the winner by the public, after submitting a short film last year and he was one of 10 exceptionally talented finalists between the ages of 10-16 years old. As part of his prize he won a five-night stay at the Steading with Speyside Wildlife, guided by Duncan Macdonald. During his holiday he also spent days with RSPB’s Stuart Benn, Wildlife TV Presenter Iolo Williams and TV Presenter and RSPB President Miranda Krestovnikoff.

James has taken part in in the promotional film being produced for this year’s competition and has also been asked to be one of the judges. Following on from his holiday with Speyside Wildlife, he will also be joining the team at the British Birdwatching Fair and taking one of our talk slots in Marquee 1 over the weekend. Before all that, you can still catch James and Duncan on Radio Scotland at the time of 1h08m in the broadcast.

James has written a full trip report for the Speyside Wildlife blog and inspired by his experiences has now created his own nature blog.
