Event Funding

2017 has been designated the Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology, a year that will celebrate our country’s unique history and heritage with a programme of activity aimed at supporting and driving the nation’s tourism and events sector.

The year’s programme will aim to embrace a wide range of activity and content aligned to the themes. We will celebrate both our tangible and intangible heritage – our buildings, visitor attractions, archaeological sites as well as our natural heritage, diverse stories, traditions and culture.

There are a numerous funding opportunities available to support businesses in delivering History, Heritage or Archaeology themed activities. Click here for more details.

Business can also apply for funding via the dedicated Signature Events Fund which has been designed to create new, high profile opportunities to celebrate our history, heritage and archaeology with a focus on adding value to the existing calendar of events.  Through this funding opportunity, EventScotland is looking for new, creative proposals that will deliver a high profile signature programme.

An introductory 2017 Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology Toolkit is now live on visitscotland.org.

This features the free-to-use images and promotional wording.  An official logo has been designed to provide a cohesive, overarching brand for the year. The logo pack and accompanying brand guidelines can also be downloaded from visitscotland.org.

More information will be added to the toolkit as the year progresses.
