Outdoor Adventure Weekends in Scotland

Looking to get the adrenalin pumping? Enjoy a weekend away with friends and family in the great outdoors?

For unique and exhilarating adventures in Scotland then we’re delighted to team up with our friends at Vertical Descents to offer you great fun all-inclusive weekend packages. All you have to do is pack your bags, get to Scotland and be ready for a wild adventure.

With great outdoor venues and accommodation across Scotland we’ve got some great options:

Package 1: East Coast Explorer
With miles of beautiful coastline around Fife and Angus to explore you’ll be cliff jumping, wild swimming, playing in natural jacuzzis and sliding through natural water flumes on this superb coasteering adventure. Equipped with excellent instruction and the best outdoor clothing and equipment enables you to respectfully enjoy being in the great outdoors in places humans don’t often get to explore. You may be lucky enough to be alongside some of our fantastic wildlife too including dolphins, seals and various sea-birds too. After your 3 hour adventure re-fuel with a picnic lunch or an afternoon tea overlooking the sea before returning to your local accommodation.

Weekend package (based on a group of 4 people) including:

• 2 night’s accommodation (including breakfast)
• 3 hour coasteering activity
• All specialist instruction and equipment (including wet suits)
• Picnic lunch or outdoor afternoon tea

Prices from:
Fife & Angus Accommodation – £155 per person
Edinburgh Accommodation – £170 per person

For weekday packages there is a discount of £10 per person on the above quoted price. Group discounts may also apply.

Package 2: Perthshire Scrambler
Canyoning in Scotland has it all – great gorges, cliff jumping, wild swimming, abseiling and scrambling under waterfalls. Whether a total beginner or an extreme adrenaline junkie there is a canyon experience for you in Perthshire. Heading out with an expert Guide we’ll provide all the specialist instruction and equipment you need to navigate your way down the epic Bruar Canyon on the southern edge of the Cairngorm National Park. With Vertical Descents you are in the safe hands of one of the only companies in Scotland that run these trips in the main upper canyon. After 4 hours adventure return for refreshments before heading back to your local accommodation.

For large groups choosing Perthshire accommodation options enjoy a welcome hamper, kegs of local Perthshire ale and privately catered evening Hog Roast / BBQ at your accommodation. There is also an option to include a private cask tasting tour at a local distillery (see supplement below).

• 4 hour canyoning activity

Package 3: Ultimate Adventurer
For a full day adventure within 60 minutes of Glasgow or Edinburgh join us on an epic double canyon experience in the foot of the Ochil Hills of Clackmannanshire. Recommended for those who have canyoned before or who have a head for heights and are of a good level of fitness. Starting in the Dollar Glen you’ll be able to warm up your skills and enjoy a challenging, memorable and scenic canyon experience. We’ll provide a picnic lunch and refreshments before making your way along the Ochils and taking on the mighty Alva in the afternoon. This is a great and adventurous canyon – one of the deepest and steepest in Scotland. After a full day out on the water (approx 9:30AM – 5PM) you’ll be able to return to your accommodation early evening to relax over a wee dram before heading out to enjoy the rest of your weekend.

• 2 night’s accommodation (including breakfast)
• 6-7 hour canyoning activity
• All specialist instruction and equipment (including wet suits)
• Picnic lunch

Prices from:
Stirlingshire Accommodation – £235 per person
Edinburgh Accommodation – £245 per person
Glasgow Accommodation – £245 per person

Vertical Descents are at the forefront of coasteering in the UK and are one of the longest established centres dedicated to the activity in Scotland. With each tour tailored to your experience and preference these trips are available for families, as well as high adrenalin wilderness seekers. We know that every party is a little different and we’re happy to work with you to arrange a trip that’s just right for you. We welcome friends and family parties, as well as corporate groups too. Our minimum age requirement is 8 years and a minimum party size of 4 for each of these packages. We are also happy to assist with transport arrangements for your trip as needed – simply get in touch and we can start planning!
