It’s time to Think WINTER!

This winter, we’ve teamed up with Mountaineering Scotland and their mountain safety partners to promote important winter safety messages to all those that want to enjoy Scotland’s hills, whether on foot or by bike using the #ThinkWINTER. The campaign is in it’s third year and this year is going to be bigger and reach even more people than ever! Look out for our social posts, share them with friends and followers and use the #ThinkWINTER to help our community have a safe and enjoyable winter, wherever you are out enjoying Scotland’s great outdoors this season.

Please remember to always follow the latest government guidance relating to travel. transport and physical distancing

Here’s your ThinkWINTER checklist:

  • Check the COVID protection measures where you live and where you plan to go
  • Plan your route and check the mountain weather and avalanche forecasts
  • Pack appropriate winter clothing, footwear and equipment and have plenty to eat and drink
  • Make sure you have the necessary winter skills and experience for what you are planning to do
  • Know your limits and be prepared to alter your plans if the weather or conditions change
  • Let someone know where you are going and what time you will be back
