The Montrose Basin Visitor Centre is a four star visitor attraction providing high class viewing facilities through high powered telescopes and binoculars overlooking the Montrose Basin wildlife reserve and tidal estuary. In addition to the visitor centre, there are three observation hides situated on the wildlife reserve. These provide visitors with unrivalled views of a wide variety of wildfowl and waders; pink-footed geese, whooper swans, wigeon, eider, pintail, teal scaup, goldeneye, shoveler, dunlin, redshank, greenshank, oystercatchers, curlew, knot, bar-tailed godwit, black-tailed godwit and water rail. The visitor centre operates a seasonal events programme together with an informal and formal education programme.
