Dolphin Spirit Inverness
“Dolphin Spirit” is the boat to take you onto the waters of the inner Moray Firth to see the dolphin pods.
She is classified as a “Motor Passenger Ferry”, which means she is specifically designed to carry people in comfort. Up to 70 people in fact. This is important from a conservation point of view. It means that there is the minimum possible disruption for the dolphins: There’s only one hull in the water, with only one set of propellers. The engines were selected for their low emissions and are connected to a specially configured low vibration drive train.
From the dolphins’ point of view, this is a quiet boat.
At 12.89 metres long and just over 5 metres of beam she’s a decent size, which means comfort for you and your party.
Dolphin Mischief
The Newest Dolphin Boat On The Moray Firth
Dolphin Mischief took to the waters of the Moray Firth in April 2017 and was immediately popular.
She offers a very different experience to her sister, Dolphin Spirit. She goes further, faster and offers a lot more excitement packed into each 2 hour sailing (whilst still observing wildlife-safe boat handling of course).
Dolphin Mischief is a 9 metre RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) equipped with two powerful Yamaha outboard motors. She is capable of taking the more intrepid Dolphin-watcher beyond the confines of the Inner Moray Firth. She’ll take you through the narrows between Chanonry Point lighthouse and Fort George and out into the waters off Ardersier. Then back to Inverness.
Enjoy Your Mischief Trip
This is a special experience. To maximise your enjoyment we recommend you dress in warm clothes, even during the summer. Warm hat and gloves are recommended. Also waterproof footwear. You will be travelling at speed across open water. You will be equipped by us with waterproof clothing and a lifejacket for the trip.
So if you’re looking to get up to all sorts during your trip to the Highlands in 2019, why don’t you get up to some mischief?
