Cullen Sea School

Improve your wellness with Cullen Sea School’s water activities.  Regardless of your level of confidence, experience or current skillset, water activities can be enjoyed by all.  At Cullen Sea School, our skilled and experienced instructors will help you to improve, or even begin, your journey to finding a water activity that’s right for you.

We are a centre based in former boat stores by the harbour offering coastal rowing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, online sailing, photography classes, beach cleans and coast path litter picks.

Kayaking and Stand Up Paddleboarding

You can explore the seascapes of our locations with a variety of paddlesports, from double and single sit-on kayaks and stand-up paddleboards (SUPs).  Whether you’re a pro or a beginner, paddlesports are one of the best ways to improve your wellness through the water.

Our qualified instructor-led sessions are available in Cullen Harbour and subject to ability* and weather conditions in Cullen Bay.

Sailing

Sailing the seas can seem daunting at first but once you’re used to the winds and depths of Scotland’s coastal regions, sailing with us is one of the best ways you can escape the everyday stresses of life and soothe your spirit.

At Cullen Sea School, we offer both in-person and online sailing training sessions.

Coastal Rowing

Coastal rowing is a brilliant water activity to try as it is currently experiencing a renaissance in Scotland and other parts of Europe. Rowing gives a truly unique view of the wonderful coastlines Scotland has to offer and, we are happy to be offering sessions for this watersport.

There is nothing better than the feeling of teamwork as the synchronised oars glide through the water in our St Ayles Skiffs.  It is a workout and a chance to clear the mind and relax all in one.

Cullen Photographic Tours

Discover Cullen and grow your photography skills with help and advice from our in-house photographer Jess Charlesworth.

The photographic walks will focus on different themes and subject matters including long exposure photography, night sky photography and mobile phone photography.

Beach Cleans & Coast Path Litter Picks

Cullen Sea School and the Three Harbours Association invite you to take part in a monthly beach clean/coast path litter pick to help look after and maintain our shoreline between Cullen, Portknockie and Findochty.

One of our objectives is:

The advancement of environmental protection and improvement thereof, by increasing public awareness of the environment surrounding the three harbours and environs, including flora and fauna, and by increasing awareness of our unique coastal walks and coastline’.

Each month we will tackle a different area of our magnificent coastline between the three harbours of Cullen, Findochty and Portknockie.
