We offer residential wildlife holidays in the West Highlands, centred on Glen Loy in Lochaber. Guests are shown the best that the region has to offer in terms of wildlife and scenery, with a full itinerary for stays of either 4 or 7 nights. The emphasis is on allowing visitors to discover local wildlife in a series of guided walks and activities.
We cover the major habitats and scenic gems that are found in the West Highlands, including Atlantic oakwoods, remote glens and the spectacular west coast. A full week will also include activities such as dawn and evening events, boat trips and rock pooling. As well as the obvious birds and mammals for which the region is famous we also look at insects, flowers and even throw in a bit of geology. Local specialities include chequered skipper, red deer, otter, golden and sea eagle, and divers, not forgetting the pine martens which visit the lodge every evening.
Accommodation is provided in Glenloy Lodge, a former Edwardian hunting lodge, with views across the Nevis Range. All meals are included, with hearty Scottish breakfasts, home-cooked dinners and packed lunches. Transport is provided throughout the stay, including optional collection and drop-off in Fort William. Holidays are informal and friendly with groups limited to a maximum of 8 and all levels of experience catered for.
