Visit the hide and visitor centre at Argaty for a wild experience. The birds are fed daily and can be viewed as close as 50 metres from our purpose built hide, so you can enjoy their aerobatic behaviour first hand. There’s loads of other wildlife to see as well!
When to visit/opening times
The red kite centre at Lerrocks Farm is open all year round. Food is put out at the feeding station once a day at 1.30 pm from the last Sunday in October through to 20 February, and at 2.30 pm for the rest of the year. Ranger-led visits to the hide cost £4 (concessions and family tickets are available). As this is a working farm, booking is recommended, so please call ahead
Facilities
Tea and coffee is available at the visitor centre, where there is also a wild bird feeding station and toilets. See live images of a red kite nest during the breeding season and enjoy the dive cam at the feed in winter. Guided tours to see conservation and wildlife friendly farming working hand-in-hand are also available (booking essential).
Accessibility
There is wheelchair access to the visitor centre and hide.
