Wild West, based near Fort William on the west coast of Scotland has launched a new night-time activity for 2011: The Searchlight Safari.

As Ian Macleod of Wild West explains,

“As the sun goes down and we humans curl up on the sofa, perhaps to watch “life on earth” with David Attenborough, in the forest and fields around us the greatest live show on Earth is about to begin. After dusk, the creatures of the night awake to hunt and forage under the cover of darkness and this is the time that we will set off into the forest. We’ll be looking for signs, and hopefully sightings of owls, deer, bats, foxes, pine marten… and maybe, just maybe, the most elusive and secretive of Scotlands wild animals, the Scottish wildcat.”

Take your fancy? Trips leave south Laggan daily at dusk (time to be advised when booking).  Adults £30.00; under 16 £20.00
