Wild Connections returns for a 2nd year

Wild Connections Festival, Highland Perthshire

Wild Connections Festival, Highland Perthshire

The Wild Connections Festival, founded in 2010, returns to Perthshire’s Big Tree Country for the second year, and is celebrating the news that it will be bringing an international famous film festival to the area direct from the UN’s headquarters in New York.

This year’s festival, which will run from 8th – 16th October, offering around 30 events to enthusiasts will include the showing of nine award-winning short films brought to the festival by Forestry Commission Scotland as part of the UN’s International Year of the Forests celebrations. The films, which were premiered earlier this year in New York, will be shown at the Birnam Institute on Sunday 9th October, with visitors expected to travel from far and wide to watch them.

The range of events on offer at this year’s Wild Connections is strongly influenced by the International Year of the Forest celebrations, in particular demonstrating the rich wildlife that lives within Big Tree Country. Badgers, red squirrels, wild cats, pine martens, birds of prey, bats and red deer will all play starring roles in many of the events and activities.

Festival organiser, Adrian Davis is urging people to book tickets, as although the event is free, demand is expected to be high, and by booking, you are guaranteed a seat.  To book tickets for the film event, or for further details on the festival and the events on offer, visit
