The world’s biggest travel magazine has named a wildlife watching holiday in the Cairngorms National Park as one of its “50 Tours of a Juv. Osprey L. InshLifetime”.

National Geographic Traveler, which boasts more than 8.5 million readers worldwide, has chosen ‘Wildlife for Beginners’, an all-inclusive 8-day wildlife watching holiday operated by Speyside Wildlife, as the only UK entry in its prestigious list for 2015.

The selection process was competitive and National Geographic Traveler’s editorial team worked long and hard to find 2015’s most authentic, most innovative, most immersive, best-guided, and most sustainable tours.

“This year marks 10 years of our editors selecting the world’s best guided tours,” said Norie Quintos, acting editor in chief of National Geographic Traveler. “In that time the types of immersive and experiential trips have only multiplied; tours are going farther and deeper than ever before. The trips and operators we selected are a model for the rest of the travel industry: they open the world to travelers and at the same time leave a positive impact on the destinations and its people.”

Speyside Wildlife, which celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2016, started running this successful holiday in 2011 and owner Sally Dowden says: ‘We are delighted to have received this wonderful accolade from National Geographic Traveler;  to have a wildlife watching holiday in Scotland recognised as a Trip of a Lifetime is a great testament and confirms Scotland as one of the world’s best wildlife watching destinations.’
